The ACTION project targets four priority geographic areas in Texas with significant disparities related to cancer incidence, mortality, screening, and risk factors: Lower Rio Grande Valley, Coastal Bend region, the extended Brazos Valley, and Northeast Texas.

The project packages and disseminates CHW materials related to breast, cervical, and colorectal cancer education, navigation, and outreach. CHWs in the priority regions will have access to 13 certified training via in-person training workshops, and CHWs across the state will be able to access the same trainings in an online format.

Additionally, this project partners with CHW programs and training centers in the priority regions as well. Through in-person training, online resources, and ongoing technical assistance, this proposal will equip these partner programs to implement successful cancer education and navigation programs of their own.
